King Hüsky and Selma French join forces for a shared autumn tour
With separate headline sets, but musicians and songs crossing between the two, the artists create a cohesive live experience where the boundaries between their projects naturally blur.
Both artists released critically acclaimed albums in 2025 and have established themselves as exceptionally strong live performers. The evening will feature well-known songs as well as new material from both artists’ forthcoming albums, and more.
Selma French
Selma made a name for herself with her debut album Changes Like the Weather in the Mountain in 2022, which was ranked among the year’s best Norwegian albums by newspapers including Dagsavisen and Aftenposten. The follow-up album, No Sign of Rotten Leaves, released last year, was also highly acclaimed, including a six-star review from Aftenposten, as well as glowing reviews in DN, Klassekampen and elsewhere. The album also received significant radio attention in the UK, including on BBC Radio 6.
Her music reflects an admiration for Norwegian and English folk music, combined with a thoughtful perspective on the present day.
In addition to performing at numerous festivals in Norway and Sweden in 2025, and recently being announced as part of this year’s Øyafestivalen programme, Selma has also played extensively in the UK. This included ten shows with Scottish band Teenage Fanclub, as well as a tour with Euros Childs, known from Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci.
King Hüsky
King Hüsky, aka Vidar Landa, is known from hard rock giants Kvelertak and power-pop outfit Beachheads. King Hüsky is his new solo project. Together with Anne Lise Frøkedal, Børge Fjordheim and Arthur Berning, Vidar released one of last year’s most promising and critically acclaimed debut albums just under a year ago.
Both the album and singles have received regular airplay everywhere from NRK P3 to Radio X in the UK, while publications including Stereogum, BrooklynVegan and Visions Magazine have embraced and featured the project. King Hüsky also recently wrapped up an extensive European tour with Sivert Høyem.
