Zum Hauptinhalt

KJELL INGE TORGERSEN is a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter and lyricist from Stavanger. On stage, he is a powerful and intimate performer – with a great voice, gentle humour and a strong presence. At Tinfabrikken, he is joined by his long-time collaborator, Aril Schøld. Together, they have created many radio favourites, including “Aks av gull” (Sting in Nynorsk), “Gnist” and “Julelegender”. With Kjell Inge’s new songs, such as “Eg fant ein ring”, “Mudderlys” and “Månefall”, the stage is set for an atmospheric and unique concert.

Lyrics are always at the heart of the music, in Norwegian, exploring love, longing and life as it is lived – accepting life’s inevitable discomfort while infused with generous amounts of hope.

And if you were awake in the 1990s, you may remember that Kjell Inge won the talent competition Stjerner i sikte and came third in the European final. He has also received the Rogaland County Council cultural grant, the Lyricists’ Fund working grant three times, and support from the Composers’ Remuneration Fund.

Aril Schøld and Kjell Inge have worked together on numerous projects, including Julelegender. Here they are, back in the (sleigh) saddle.

KJELL D. RAMSDAL is a creative director, designer and adviser specialising in branding and business development. He has more than 30 years of experience in the communications industry, working in Stavanger, Oslo, London, New York and Hong Kong. He has been creative director and partner at several advertising agencies and now works through the professional collaborations Komet and Kavaleriet.

Alongside his branding work, Ramsdal has developed and designed a number of award-winning books inspired by the landscape, culture and history of Jæren. Two of these projects have also resulted in exhibitions of his own, presented at Hå Gamle Prestegard and Galleri Sting.

Ti liv – an exhibition

In November, he presents the exhibition Ti liv at Tinfabrikken. The exhibition grew out of the book project Død og begavet, an ongoing work based on old occupational titles and designations photographed on gravestones across Norway. Many of these titles have disappeared from the language, working life and collective memory.

Through photography and text, they are brought back to life – not as dry historical curiosities, but as small windows into lives once lived. At Tinfabrikken, ten very different titles are presented, each in its own way having “passed away”. Their common themes are identity, work and forgetting, with a wry look at who we were, what we called ourselves, and what remains after us.
