An opportunity to experience many of the region’s brass bands performing at their best, with a varied programme spanning a wide range of musical genres.
Each band has selected its own repertoire with the aim of entertaining the audience, ensuring plenty of variety. Perhaps a much-loved classic will make an appearance? Perhaps newly composed music will challenge the ears? Or perhaps familiar music will be presented in an entirely new form?
The concert forms part of the build-up to the Siddis Brass entertainment competition. Bands from 4th division level through to the elite level take part both in the competition and in this concert.
Klang av Messing is an event for brass bands in the Stavanger region. The event was established by Musikkorpset Gjallarhorn to give bands the opportunity to present music in venues and settings suited to the purpose.
Brass bands are often directed towards sports halls, churches and community halls with acoustic conditions that do neither the bands nor the audience justice. Klang av Messing therefore provides musical experiences in venues where brass band music can truly come into its own.
