Stavanger’s Chief Municipal Executive, Kjartan Møller, will present the Stavanger budget on Friday 23 October. As usual, he will appear at KÅKÅnomics to discuss the freshly presented budget with local politicians – or this year, perhaps to find agreement?
This year, the situation is that Labour Party group leader Dag Mossige has called for the parties on the city council to set politics aside and reach agreement on a “grey and boring” budget, due to the municipality’s serious financial situation.
But is a difficult municipal financial situation not precisely when political choices and priorities are needed? And what basis does it give voters for distinguishing between the parties if everyone agrees on the budget?
