Leonkoro Quartet was formed in Berlin in 2019 and has in just a few years gone from being a competition name to becoming an ensemble many follow closely. The distinctive quality lies not only in the precision or the interplay, but in the way they make well-known repertoire sound unfinished, alive and freshly conceived, as if the music is being discovered anew in the very performance.
After hearing Leonkoro Quartet at Opus XVI in 2024, a stunned audience was left speechless; «is it possible..?» We have barely heard such precision, passion, presence and immersion in the music, and we have heard a lot! The quartet now returns with three audience favourites: Beethoven, Shostakovich and Schubert.

At some concerts we are lucky enough to have Gunnar Danbolt with us as an introductory lecturer. This will be confirmed closer to the concert date, and any lecture will be announced on our website and social media - stay tuned! The lectures begin half an hour before the concert starts, that is at 19:00 on Wednesdays and 17:30 on Sundays.
