Rogalender Maren Davidsen moved to London to follow her dream. Now she is back in Norway with the album This Is Where I Leave You in her luggage. Since the first release of the beautiful song Tennessee On My Mind in April she has received a lot of international attention.
"A beautiful piece of Nordic americana, that hits you right in the heart" writes the Canadian music journalist Eric Alper.
This Is Where I Leave You is a personal and vulnerable album about losing yourself in a relationship, and about finding your way back. Many of the songs are written from a dark place, about love, breakups and the feeling of no longer knowing your own worth. At the same time the title is about more than leaving a person: for Maren it is about leaving the life she had in London, old patterns and the version of herself she no longer wanted to be.
In October she heads out on an album tour and on 16 October she plays at Kolonialen Bar in Bergen. Welcome!
