Kunsthall 3,14 is proud to present four timely summer exhibitions featuring artists who explore the mechanisms of power across geographies and histories: Shwan Dler Qaradaki (b. Slemani, Kurdistan), Mona Tahani (b. Tehran, Iran), and Ciara Phillips (b. Ottawa, Canada).
In her new work February 28th, Mona Tahani responds to the day the United States and Israel launched military attacks on Iran. Working from Norway while remaining emotionally connected to family and friends in Tehran, she embarked on an intensive month of printmaking. Through inking, pressing, and erasure, repetition became both a form of endurance and a way of maintaining connection across borders. The resulting 400 prints and 15 artist books form a concentrated archive shaped by urgency and diasporic simultaneity. A selection of these works is presented in the exhibition. The works serve both as a testimony to a specific historical moment and as an exploration of how care and resistance can be sustained across distance.
