Moyka presents her new album BULLSEYE in its entirety, alongside favourites from her back catalogue, taking the audience on a journey through transformation, the pursuit of magic and the things that make us feel alive.
BULLSEYE is Moyka’s most personal work to date: an ugly self-portrait dressed in ice-cold electropop, with every lyric rooted in real life. The opening track pulls the audience straight onto the dancefloor from the very first beat, before the album draws listeners deeper into the darkness with compelling confidence. It explores the pain of growing up, the grief of letting go, the adrenaline rush of flying close to one's dreams, and the strength it takes to stand up for oneself – even if that means becoming the villain in someone else’s story.
A trip to the moon offers an escape from the pain of looking at oneself too closely and for too long in the mirror, before the music pulls us back and reminds us that the only way out is through. And that is exactly what the evening is all about: dancing through it all.
Moyka (Monika Engeseth) is one of Norway’s most distinctive electropop artists. Her singles “Icarus”, “Moon” and “Villain of Your Story” have received airplay on BBC Radio 1 and featured on NRK P3’s playlists. Her previous album, Movies, Cars & Heartbreak, earned praise from The Line of Best Fit, Notion and Billboard.
This winter, Moyka is touring Latin America for the second year running, with appearances at festivals including Corona Capital and Fauna Primavera, before heading on to Norway, Europe and the UK.
