Welcome to this year’s Christmas concert with Multa Paucis!

The concert takes place ten days before the winter solstice, before “the sun turns.” How does this affect us? The darkness and the light? During a season that is both warm and cold?

Together with guest artists Karl Seglem and Håkon Høgemo, Multa Paucis invites you to a slightly different Christmas concert — one that explores humanity’s relationship with midwinter and the dark season throughout history, from pre-Christian solstice traditions to the present day. As an audience member, you will of course also hear beloved and familiar Christmas songs. You’ll experience both well-known and lesser-known pieces, along with excerpts from the album Ved myrke midnattstid, which was nominated for the Folkelarm Award in 2022. All of this is wrapped in the distinctive and increasingly recognizable Multa Paucis style.

Treat yourself to an hour of warm pre-Christmas atmosphere in the company of one of Bergen’s elite choirs — “Norway’s folk music choir” — together with some of the country’s very finest musicians.
