Hayeminol are back with their fourth album, Ingen vår i år — this time in Norwegian, without filters and without a safety net. The album follows Natural Born Failures (2023), kicking out with punk nerves, fuzz and lyrics that hit close to the bone.
After their previous English-language album, the band wanted to get closer. Norwegian leaves less distance, creates more friction and carries greater consequences. Ingen vår i år is about time passing, people clinging on, and the fear of change. About standing still while everything else moves on.
Hayeminol combine the restlessness and DIY mentality of punk with garage rock and hyperactive power pop. Noise, melodies, chaos and control often collide within the same song. References range from Wipers and DEVO to The Beach Boys at their most warped, but the sound is unmistakably Hayeminol: loud, honest and fearless.
The Oslo band was formed in 2013, but the idea of Hayeminol had existed in songwriter Ånon Sørnes Bakkjen’s head since nursery school. The name is fictional, means nothing and was chosen long before the band could properly play their instruments. It sounded shit at first. That was the point.
Since their debut album Hayemania! (2019), Hayeminol have developed enormously without losing touch with their roots in loud, aggressive rock’n’roll.
There have been line-up changes, life happening and new directions — but the energy has always remained constant.
The quartet, all in their early twenties, are known for their high-energy live shows. The band consists of Ånon Sørnes Bakkjen (lead guitar, vocals), Thora Helene Skoglund Tuveng (keys, vocals), Jonas Thulan (bass, vocals) and Bror Meyer (drums).
With their debut album Magnolia and the singles “Sitt Ner (Lilla Jag)” and “Älskar Dig (Oändligt Föralltid)”, Nektar established themselves in record time as one of Sweden’s most acclaimed and talked-about bands. The Gothenburg band quickly became a natural part of the Swedish indie rock scene, building a fanbase with a level of devotion and loyalty that is unusual today.
Since forming in early 2024, Nektar have sold out shows across the country, been named Breakthrough of the Year by GAFFA, and received praise from Fredrik Strage, both on Nyhetsmorgon and on the podcast Hemma hos Strage.
In 2025, the band took another major step forward. After closing Stay Out West with a headline show at Pustervik, they released their second album, Om du behöver mig — an album that cemented their position as one of Sweden’s most influential new rock bands. The album was warmly received by audiences and critics alike, followed by a sold-out autumn tour.
The album and Nektar are now nominated for three Grammis Awards: Rock of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Music Video of the Year.
