With songs such as “Oktober, Bergen by” (“October, City of Bergen”), “Bittelitt” (“A Little Bit”), and “Alma”, Spellemann winner Oddny has long since marked itself as a West Norwegian unique phenomenon in Norwegian music life.
Radio success, sold-out concerts, and a steadily growing fan base also earned them the Lutt Award 2024 as Newcomer of the Year. In 2025, the awards continued to line up, as both the Norwegian Ballad Forum's Artist Grant and the Frank Hammersland Memorial Fund landed in their lap. That says something: Oddny hits people right in the chest. And when the Spellemann Awards were handed out in March 2026,Iver Strand Senneset / Oddny went all the way to the top and won the award for Lyricist of the Year, in addition to a nomination in the category Songwriter of the Year.
With their completely own and highly recognizable signature, they mix alternative pop-rock with dialect lyrics loaded with emotion and closeness. On stage, they have become one of the most talked-about live bands in the country, and in 2025 they took audiences by storm, festival after festival, from small and large venues in both Norway and Sweden. Sold out at Kulturhuset in Bergen. Sold out at Parkteatret. And when they played at by:Larm in 2025, Gaffa gave a perfect six out of six and called the concert “grandiose”. You can only tip your hat.
The band is based in Gamlahuset in Bremanger, a kind of musical collective where they periodically live, work, write, and record their songs, with drummer and producer Oliver Igland as a steady hand at the controls. They are now back at Gamlahuset, where they are recording their second album this spring, and new music is expected during the year.
Oddny is sharpened with new energy, fresh guitar picks, and clear plans. They are coming to us at full speed, with songs that go straight home without knocking on the door.
