Sailing in and boat parade
During the opening of Fjordsteam Bergen 2026 you can follow D/S Stord I out onto Byfjorden and welcome the participating vessels in this year's event. Ships and boats arrive from near and far.
D/S Stord I The steamship «Stord I» was built for Hardanger Sunnhordlandske Dampskipsselskap at Laxevaag Maskin & Jernskipsbyggeri in 1913, and the ship was in regular service for the company until 1969.
The ship was restored as a heritage vessel between 1981 and 2013. The Norwegian Maritime Authority issued a passenger certificate for 99 passengers in 2013. As when it was in ordinary service, the ship has many saloons and plenty of space across many decks. On the trip the entire ship can be explored. Passengers can visit the wheelhouse, the engine room, the galley and more.
When D/S Stord I sails out onto Byfjorden, passengers can take in the view of Bergen lying between «The 7 mountains». From the boat you can see heritage sites such as «Bryggen» and «Kystkultursenteret i Sandviken», and up in the mountains you can see «Fløyen». It becomes a unique journey of discovery!
The galley of D/S Stord I serves both food and drinks. The selection includes among other things betasuppe, svele and waffles, and a good selection of drinks such as coffee, tea, soft drinks, mineral water, beer and wine.
