where vocalist Vera Sonne leans towards everything from kveding to rap, in other words, what captures the dancing drive of folk music at any given time. In addition, Pumpegris draws inspiration from funk, shoegaze, show pop and hip hop and takes on all traditions with great authority. This is how they take folk music into something close, dirty and groovy. Fritids is Pumpegris's debut album, produced by Tuva Syvertsen. The Norwegian cultural heritage meets today's youth, slather meets rap, fuzz guitar meets hymn tones. The contrast between the vulnerable and humorous is consistent in both the music and the lyrics. Pumpegris has come to spread Norwegian folk music with party and fun, just as it originated.
