Robin Hood – Cowardice is for Adults
Most people know the tale of Robin Hood – the medieval outlaw who lived in Sherwood Forest, stole from the rich and gave to the poor. But this autumn, the Children and Youth Theatre breathes new life into the legend under the direction of Nils Petter Mørland, who has boldly shaken up the story! Just listen:
In a not-so-distant future, the adults have run the world into the ground, leaving chaos and hopelessness behind. This dystopian world is plagued by oppression, environmental disaster, and every imaginable problem. But no matter how dark things get, there are always some who fight for peace, freedom, and a better future for everyone!
In an abandoned city, the ruthless, greedy Sheriff rules with an iron fist. Outside the city, in the forest, a group of kids and teens live – among them, the clever teenage girl Robin Hood. Life in the forest is tough, with little food and water, and every day is a fight for survival. Robin and her little sister gather a gang of young outlaws and begin robbing supply transports moving in and out of the city.
Robin is tough, vengeful and headstrong, but values freedom and justice above all. One day, the Sheriff’s son Marinox unexpectedly appears in the forest, and new possibilities arise for Robin and her gang. But can they trust him? Then again, not much is gained without trust in others.
Get ready for break-ins, whizzing arrows, laser alarms and all the fun when Robin Hood and the outlaws take over the Main Stage this autumn!
