Say hello to my little friend!
Brian De Palma's grand gangster epic from 1983 did not receive quite the warm reception one might expect given the film's status today. The brutality was one thing – three rounds through censorship with various cuts and hearings were needed before avoiding the catastrophic "X" rating, which would have severely limited the film's cinema prospects. The language was another thing – the film set a notorious record in the use of profanity.
