Stageway, All Things Live Norway presents: David Bowie 80 years with Scary Monsters
David Bowie would have turned 80 on 8 January 2027. Scary Monsters celebrates this with an anniversary concert in Peer Gynt-salen at Grieghallen. For almost ten years the Bergen-based band has cultivated the music of one of rock history's very greatest artists. With over 30 songs from across Bowie's career – from the early years in the 60s to his final masterpiece – Scary Monsters offers an evening filled with iconic songs, powerful musical performances and genuine musical joy. The repertoire ranges from «Life on Mars?», «Golden Years» and «Fashion» to «Ziggy Stardust», «Lazarus» and many more. With a rocking approach Scary Monsters puts their own stamp on the music, while preserving the energy, distinctiveness and expression that made David Bowie one of popular music's most influential artists.
For a number of years Scary Monsters has turned the traditional Bowie concerts at Madam Felle in Bergen into a fixed January event. In 2027 the celebration moves to Peer Gynt-salen at Grieghallen, where audiences are invited to a larger commemoration of the man, the music and the outstanding catalogue he left behind.
The band has also recorded their own versions of «Fashion», «Life on Mars?», «Golden Years», «Dirty Boys», «Lazarus», «Where Are We Now?» and «Ziggy Stardust». The recordings are available on the major streaming services, and several of the songs also have their own music videos.
