Iconic Seigmen announces a new tour
“You must never give up. Never give in. Never stop dreaming,” declares Seigmen frontman Alex Møklebust at the beginning of the track ‘Dyret’ from 23 Bud.
You could say it is autobiographical. Seigmen are undoubtedly a product of the nineties, a decade in which they conquered both concert audiences and the charts with their distinctive sound and now-classic albums such as Total and, above all, the platinum-selling, Spellemann Award-winning Metropolis.
Given this background, you could be forgiven for thinking that the band are past their prime, that their mission in 2026 is limited to playing old songs over and over again for long-standing fans. How wrong you would be.
Two brilliant albums released in as many years have expanded their repertoire with several new crowd favourites, and a new generation is beginning to discover the sheer magnetism and raw power of this band on stage.
Seigmen cannot always be explained; they have to be experienced. Whether you are one of the many who return to their concerts time and again, or are discovering ‘Dyret’ for the first time, a Seigmen concert is a journey through time and emotion, building tension before releasing it in a thrilling climax.
It is a journey that everyone knows will end with the explosive ‘Hjernen er alene’. No secret is made of this grand finale; you know it is coming, yet you are never truly prepared for it. Seigmen’s definitive, monstrous rendition of the deLillos classic brings band and audience together in a way rarely experienced in a live music venue.
As Seigmen embark on another tour, they do so with yet another new album on the horizon, although we will have to wait a few more months for its release. Substans will be the third and final album in the trilogy that began with Resonans and Dissonans.
“We are alike, we are one,” Seigmen sing in ‘Slaver av solen’ — perhaps a little prophetic, given that this five-headed beast has stayed together since the late eighties.
Those who have yet to experience Seigmen live should seize the opportunity. This is a band that always delivers and has never been better than they are right now.
