Sleggefett releases poetry & metal!
After plenty of roaring and some seriously heavy announcements, Sleggefett are set to release their album SLEGGEFETT – poetry & metal in May!
The first single, Draumen, based on a poem by Olav H. Hauge, was released back in January. February saw the release of the second single, Farao i Furua, inspired by the well-known poem by André Bjerke.
And in May, the full album finally arrives, featuring a collection of heavyweight tracks based on poems by some of Norway’s finest poets, including Inger Hagerup, Jan Erik Vold and Halldis Moren Vesaas.
Stay heavy and take care!
Sleggefett made their debut in front of 10,000 people at Tons of Rock 2025, delivering a performance that audiences were already calling historic while the concert was still underway.
And here's what the reviewer at Radio Rock generously had to say about the experience:
«Poetry rock? What the hell is POETRY ROCK? Well, it's quite simply top-notch rock and metal, fronted by Atle Antonsen with a fistful of poetry. What could have been a bit of good old-fashioned TOMFOOLERY turned into a fantastic concert, complete with guest appearances, catchy rock, and beautiful tributes to the nation's poets and sages.
Delivered with flair and backed by a fantastic band. Antonsen certainly has plenty of power in his voice, too! We want more of this. A new genre has been born. There should be an album, too! Preferably next week.»
