Jenny Berger Myhre is an Oslo-based musician, sound artist and interdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of experimental electronic music, field recordings and electroacoustic sound art. With roots in Oslo’s underground music scene, she has developed a distinctive musical language in which everyday sounds, voices, memories and recordings from her surroundings are woven into open and atmospheric compositions.
Her music is characterised by an exploratory and attentive approach, drawing inspiration from both the electroacoustic tradition and experimental pop music. Through sound, she creates spaces for reflection and presence, focusing on the unique qualities of timbre and the mental images that sounds can evoke.
Jenny Berger Myhre has created commissioned works for organisations and festivals including Insomnia Festival, Borealis, Spikersuppa lydgalleri, RUMMUR_radio and Radiophrenia Festival. She has released three solo albums, as well as the album Flutter Ridder with Espen Friberg, and tours internationally as a musician with Jenny Hval.
On 10 September, she will perform at Strømklang at Folken, presenting her distinctive blend of electronics, field recordings and sound art.
Strømklang is a concert series for experimental electronic music in Stavanger, established in 2024. The series takes place at Folken and is curated by John Derek Bishop. Audiences can experience exciting performances by Norwegian and international artists working within ambient music, electronica and other exploratory musical expressions.
