Experience a concert featuring two landmark works from distinct musical worlds, as Beethoven and Bartók take centre stage.
The evening opens with Ludwig van Beethoven’s magnificent and virtuosic Violin Concerto. The work combines lyrical beauty with musical power, giving the violin a prominent role throughout. The soloist is Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto, known for his distinctive artistry and expressive performances.
Following Beethoven’s classical elegance, the concert continues with Béla Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra. Here, the entire orchestra takes on the role of soloist in a work filled with rhythmic energy, contrasts and vivid colours. Bartók combines folk-inspired elements with a modern orchestral language, creating music that moves between the powerful, the playful and the contemplative.
Dima Slobodeniouk conducts the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra throughout the evening’s programme.
