Experience chamber music up close as musicians from the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra present a new concert in the Kammerfest i Valen series.
Here, the musicians themselves select both the programme and the music they perform, sharing works they have chosen with the audience. The concert features two contrasting yet complementary musical expressions: Robert Schumann’s Dichterliebe and Maurice Ravel’s Piano Trio in A minor.
Schumann’s Dichterliebe, Op. 48, is a collection of songs set to poetry by Heinrich Heine, exploring themes of love, longing and melancholy. Yauheniya Mazynskaya performs on viola, accompanied by Ida Mo Schanche on piano.
Ravel’s Piano Trio in A minor, M. 67, follows. The work combines lyrical melodies, rhythmic energy and refined colours, performed by Ida Mo Schanche on piano, Dunja Bontek on violin and Liv Opdal on cello.
Kammerfest i Valen offers a unique concert experience. The audience is invited to sit around the musicians on stage or in the choir balcony, bringing them close to both the performers and the performance itself. This proximity creates a personal and intimate setting for the music.
The concert lasts approximately one hour.
