Zum Hauptinhalt

In the final concert of the season in the Classics series, the Stavanger Concert Halllook forward to another encounter with conductor Jan Willem de Vriend.

Johann Strauss' magnificent Kaiserwalzer is an imperial waltz that combines Viennese elegance with majestic gravitas. Schumann's gripping Manfred Overture is inspired by Byron's dark and stormy poem. After the interval, Brahms' First Symphony awaits – a masterpiece that took the composer over 20 years to complete. The result was a powerful, heartfelt and majestic symphony that is often called ‘Beethoven's Tenth’ because it builds on the musical and expressive legacy of Ludwig van Beethoven.
