Join an unforgettable summer experience by the sea as Engøyholmen invites visitors to daily excursions to Natvigs Minde and the Engøyholmen Coastal Heritage Centre from 1–19 July and 27–31 July. The journey begins with a boat trip from Stavanger city centre, either from Børevigå by the Norwegian Petroleum Museum at 11.00 or from Stavanger Maritime Museum at 12.00. Return departures are at 15.00 and 15.15 respectively.
A day filled with activities, games and authentic coastal culture awaits at Engøyholmen and Natvigs Minde. Visitors can try rowing the old wooden boat “Svarten”, enjoy lawn games, swim in the sea or relax with a packed lunch by the quay. Ice cream, soft drinks and coffee will also be available for purchase throughout the day.
Guided tours of Engøyholmen and Natvigs Minde offer insight into local coastal heritage, while traditional clinker boatbuilding techniques dating back to the Viking Age can be explored through hands-on activities. For a quieter moment, guests may settle down with a book from Sølvberget’s maritime summer mini-library at Natvigs Minde. Additional books can be borrowed or ordered via solvberget.no.
From 4–12 July, visitors can also experience the art exhibition “Along the Coast” at Natvigs Minde, featuring works inspired by the sea, coastal landscapes and Norwegian maritime culture.
