Before a long sea voyage, there is much to prepare – and at the Iron Age Farm, you can take part in the preparations.

We cook food over an open fire for the crew, just as it may have been done in the past. But a sea journey could also bring challenges, so all young sailors should be prepared for what they may encounter. Viking and author Bjørn Veen invites both children and adults to an exciting introduction to sword fighting: how swords have developed through history and how they were actually used.

Afterwards, he will read from his book Pinnelek (“Stick Play”), an adventurous story about two young heroes on a sword quest. Those who would like a closer look will also have the opportunity to hold real swords.

Finally, everyone who wishes can make their own wooden sword and join in the play.

Pinnelek takes place from 13:00–14:30 on both Saturday and Sunday.

Welcome to a lively, educational and enjoyable experience for the whole family.
