Sundtopi is an innovative jazz orchestra consisting of 20 young musicians from across Norway, who together make up this year’s Jazz Line at Sund Folk High School. The band name is derived from the words utopia and dystopia – two opposite ends of the imagination. In the space between these extremes, we create our own world: Sundtopi.
The music is written by members of the band and shaped collectively. The result is a distinctive and varied sound that creates a strong collective voice while also highlighting each individual’s unique character. We are a musical melting pot, and our tour is an invitation into our universe – a place where different backgrounds, experiences, and expressions all have their own space.
Let us take you on a journey through our world. Welcome to Sundtopi!
