In the heart of Egersund, surrounded by charming little wooden houses, the Christmas town opens its doors to a world of scents, flavours and sounds that bring the festive spirit to life. The streets sparkle with lights, cosy stalls and happy faces, offering a magical experience for children and adults alike.
The idea began in 2003 when a local initiator was inspired by a successful Christmas market in England. A study group travelled to Frankfurt to gather inspiration and returned with a clear goal: to create a Christmas town in Egersund that was warm, vibrant and full of joy.
By 2004 the Christmas town became a reality, run by volunteers who still put heart and energy into the event. Memories are made here, and children who first visited as little ones may one day return with their own children to share a town full of festive spirit, tradition and genuine Christmas joy.
