OUT ON TOUR, JUST GRUMPY
The Dogs are back!
A new album from The Dogs is due just after the summer, so naturally there will be a tour to go with it! Frontman Kristopher Schau explains the title:
“Grumpy old men on tour may be the saddest thing you can pay money to see, so we absolutely have to avoid that. This time, we’ve therefore tried to max out every parameter to make sure people get to see a beamingly happy band on stage. After a four-minute workshop, we settled on these three points.
1. Play smaller venues
That gives our ageing senses a better chance of seeing, smelling and tasting the people who have come to see us. So, for example, we’d rather play two shows at John Dee than one at Rockefeller in Oslo this time. Win-win for everyone involved. We have more fun, and you get to see a genuine pensioner up close. Well lit and with a microphone in his hand.
2. Start the show as early as humanly possible!
That way, we’ll still have enough energy after the concert to have a chat with people at the merch stand. Another win-win. A little much-needed socialising in an age of alienation, and everyone is in bed by midnight.
3. Even more sweets on the rider.
A double jab straight to the chin of dietary advice, so hopefully we can feel a little ‘punk’ in the autumn of our lives.
In summary:
We’re going to do everything in our power to become a SMALLER band, not a bigger one, this time! Growth is for idiots. Or, as a wise man from Østfold once said: ‘Spektrum is for influencers.’
On 20 March, The Dogs return with the new track “Back to Fucking”.
On their previous album, The Dogs were foolish enough to release the single “I’m Done with Fucking, I Just Wanna Dance”, which was a lie. The fear of consequently HAVING to dance – something they neither want to do nor are capable of mastering – meant that, unfortunately, the band didn’t dare tour or release any records for well over a year.
With “Back to Fucking”, they want to apologise for this fiasco.
