Music Talk: How Do Funding Schemes Work?

Do you play in a band, make music or work as an artist, and want to understand how funding schemes work?

Welcome to Musikkprat with Arnfinn Wadstensvik Bjerkestrand. Having read a large number of applications, Arnfinn will share insights into how funding schemes have changed over time. What is considered when applications are assessed, and what are funders actually looking for in an application? How can musicians and artists succeed with funding applications? These questions and much more will be explored in this conversation.

Arnfinn Wadstensvik Bjerkestrand is a church musician, cultural policy advocate, cultural mentor and course leader. He was Director of Culture in Stavanger from 2017 to 2021 and is now a senior adviser at Sølvberget Library and Cultural Centre.

Arnfinn has held a number of positions on councils, boards and committees, including at Tou Scene, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Kunsthall Stavanger and Kilden Theatre and Concert Hall. He has also taught and delivered courses on cultural policy, entrepreneurship and funding schemes. He previously served as a member of the Norwegian Arts Council and is now first deputy member of the Committee for the Government Grants for Artists.
