Welcome to this year’s edition of the Salvation Army Christmas Concert in Stavanger!
These concerts have become a cherished tradition for many. Enjoy a festive and beautiful concert — while contributing to “Hope in a Pot” for others.
This year’s concert offers a generous musical variety, featuring the exceptionally beautiful voice of Paal Flaata, renowned both as lead singer of the legendary Midnight Choir and as a solo artist with numerous critically acclaimed albums. With a recording career spanning over 25 years — the last 20 as a solo artist — Paal has delighted fans across Norway with his impressive vocal power and remarkable ability to convey emotion.
Narum will create Christmas atmosphere with their warm style — in true Totens fashion. The sibling trio has delivered a string of hits on NRK P1 and created the Salvation Army’s Christmas song “Hope in a Pot,” later used as the title of the Salvation Army’s pre-Christmas TV2 programme and as the slogan for the Christmas campaign — now also the title of our Stavanger concert.
And if that’s not enough, Elle Melle from our own district will also perform. They have received the Prøysen Prize and a nomination for the Edvard Prize. Who hasn’t heard “Himmelhøge sti”? In 2021 they released the beautiful Christmas song “Julen e snart forbi.” Anticipation is high.
The Amland family is one of the most musical families in the Salvation Army, spanning three generations of nationally top-level musicians. We look forward to their Christmas gift for us this year!
Highlights from the “Christmas Under the Bridge” concept will be freshly presented by Knut Anders Sørum, Tabita Størksen, and Sandnes Gospel Choir.
Of course, the Salvation Army’s own brass band, string players from the Philharmonic, a children’s group, and the house orchestra will participate.
This year’s conductor, as last year, is pianist Thor-Erik Fjellvang — previously musical director for “The Night Before Christmas Eve,” performer at two Nobel Concerts, currently touring with his own trio, or performing in duo with Lewi Bergrud in “Hymns at the Pub.”
Welcome to a concert full of Christmas spirit and meaning!
