The wah‑wah pedals are ready, the amps are turned up to 11, the throats are refreshed and ready for battle. THE SWAMP BABIES are ready to take a running start and dive into the dark abyss of rock. Come and join in!
THE SWAMP BABIES
Hated by Kvinnefronten (for reasons unknown), frowned upon by Blitz (but cheered whenever they finally got to play there), ignored by Arne Nordheim, yet loved by hordes of sexually frustrated women and men. Worshipped by Jello Biafra, who combed the city’s second‑hand record shops for THE SWAMP BABIES vinyl and sought out band members to express his praise. Handpicked to open for Pearl Jam on their first visit to Norway.
The band toured the country (except Volda…) from 1987–93 and were mentioned as “the next big thing” in the same breath as Turboneger and Motorpsycho, but broke up before they got that far.
