Ballads, verse and other misfortunes
What happens when you put Dagfinn Iversen and Jon Hjørnevik on the same stage?
The safest answer is probably that there will be both ballads and verse. The rest we dare not guarantee.
Thursday 26 November the two meet at ViseBasaren for an evening where the songs are accompanied by poems, stories, sideways glances and probably some diversions along the way.
Dagfinn Iversen has written and sung his own songs for many years, and is known for lyrics with both seriousness, humour and relatable observations about life and the people trying to get through it.
Jon Hjørnevik, for his part, has made poetry a place where very little is sacred. With rhyme, rhythm, precise observations and a quite distinctive ability to find the comic where others might not even have looked, he has led a large audience to discover that poems really do not need to be solemn.
Together the two should, in other words, be completely harmless.
We do not believe that for a moment.
And it may well be that yet another familiar face finds his way to the stage this evening. More than that we dare not say yet – because some things actually need to be agreed before we start boasting about them.

Come for the ballads. Come for the verse. Any misfortunes come as a bonus.
