The Swedish dream pop trio ViVii comes to Statsraaden Bar & Reception on 6 March 2027, as part of a new spring tour in connection with the band's third album, I thought I would be somewhere else by now.
For many years ViVii has been one of Sweden's best-kept musical secrets. Yet the trio – Caroline Jonsson, Emil Jonsson and Anders Eckeborn – has built an ever-growing audience far beyond their home country's borders. With millions of streams, praise from the international music press and tours with among others Alt-J, the band has developed a distinctive expression that resonates both intimately and widely.
ViVii debuted in 2018 and quickly gained international attention. BBC6, The Line of Best Fit and Wonderland were among the media that embraced the band's music, while the debut album eventually passed 25 million streams. Their music has been compared to artists such as Lana Del Rey, Sufjan Stevens and Beach House, but at the same time has a clear grounding in a Nordic, down-to-earth sound full of strong emotions.
The new album is released on Dumont Dumont on 29 January 2027. Across the eleven tracks ViVii moves from dense darkness to a gentle morning light. Here desperation, vulnerability and a newly found creative joy meet in a soundscape of dreamy textures, soft harmonies and powerful imagery.
The concert at Statsraaden Bar & Reception will be an opportunity to experience a band that both honours what audiences already love about ViVii, while having found new paths forward.
