WINTERSTØ (DUO) ON TOUR
After a handful of duo shows over the past six months, Terje Winterstø Røthing and Thorbjørn André Bilstad Olsen have decided that this is something they want to do much more of. The more intimate concerts have been very warmly received, and now they are hitting the road with guitars, mandolin, banjo, two voices and a selection of songs.
Terje Winterstø Røthing, known from Kaizers Orchestra and Skambankt, made his solo debut this year with the album Verdalen Zoo. Following tours and festivals with a full band, this new run of shows will be more intimate and stripped back, giving the songs room to breathe in a different way and allowing more space for the stories behind them.
Joining him is guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Thorbjørn André Bilstad Olsen. A key part of Winterstø’s band from the very beginning, he brings his distinctive touch to the sound with warm guitar textures, mandolin, banjo and vocal harmonies.
The concerts will feature songs from Verdalen Zoo, new Winterstø songs and a carefully selected handful of gems from the Skambankt catalogue – stripped down, given a fresh twist and performed in a way you probably have never heard them before.
