The Gulating at Eivindvik can rightly be called the cradle of Norwegian democracy, as the oldest and largest regional assembly in Norway. The Gulating Law is the oldest preserved law in the Nordic countries. You can go on a guided tour of the beautiful park area and wander between majestic works of art.

Go on an adventure at Kvernsteinsparken stone park in Hyllestad, an outdoor museum in the largest quarry from the Viking Age and Middle Ages in Scandinavia, popular with young and older explorers alike. At Viking Footprints in Hyllestad you can get a taste of life in the Viking Age, by exploring the Viking garden, learning about plants and farm life in the Viking Age, trying historical craftsmanship techniques, axe throwing and much more.
