Haukeliseter lodge is situated at an altitude of 1000 m, above highway E134 just north of Ryfylke. Even though you can drive all the way up to the lodge by car or bus, you have the wonderful satisfaction of feeling that the wilderness and mountains start right outside your window!

With over 150 beds, Haukeliseter, owned by Stavanger Trekking Association, is the largest mountain lodge run by the Norwegian Mountain Touring Association (DNT). Accommodation is offered in many price classes, ranging from rooms with ready-made beds and a private shower and wc, to simple and affordable accommodation on par with many of the other cabins and lodges operated by STF/DNT.

We can suggest many great hikes and excursions, both summer and winter – northbound across the mighty Hardangervidda plateau, southward to the lush heathlands of Ryfylkeheiane and Setesdalsheiane. All have an extensive network of mountain lodges, cabins and trails.

Haukeliseter is a natural stop for those who enjoy hiking from lodge to lodge, but it is also perfect if you want a base for your day trips exploring the surrounding area. An added bonus is that you can enjoy a great three-course dinner and even relax in a wilderness spa at Haukeliseter lodge.

Haukeliseter invites visitors to join a variety of trips and events throughout the year – everything from kiting courses and dog sledding to music festivals and activities for children.
