From Balestrand’s historic harbor, you’ll pass over the widest and deepest part of the Sognefjord. You’ll make a short stop to see a medieval stone church on one of the Sognefjord’s few islands.

Then you’ll turn off into the Sognefjord’s smallest arm and pass through its narrowest part. Then, suddenly, the fjord opens up into a fjord within a fjord: Finnabotn. Here there are no roads, no cell service and no sounds except for waterfalls.
