The Slettene recreation area is located by Lambeidvågen, just northeast of Auklandshamn, partly on the mainland and partly on Hjelløya. The area offers good harbor facilities with mooring and a jetty. A simple suspension bridge connects the mainland to the islet south of Hjelløya. Swimming is possible from a sandy beach, smooth rocks, or the jetty.
The area is signposted from Auklandshamn. A designated parking area is available at Nedre Økland. It’s about a 15-minute walk along a trail to reach the recreation area. Well-suited for families with children. Not wheelchair accessible. Toilet facilities available.
