About Fanøy
Fanøy is located just a short ferry ride from Florø, and has the ocean as its nearest neighbour. Here you can enjoy quiet days or on the jetty in your own private cove. Paddle around the narrow straits in the immediate area, and fish from the rock. You can also go on adventures with Fanøy Island Lodge as your base.
The area is rich in nature experiences, and Fanøy has a network of hiking trails well suited for discovering the uninhabited parts of the Island. For those who like to go on mountain trips, you will find several mountains Store Batalden is perhaps the most famous of the hiking destinations in the area, but you also have Blåkollen and Lille Batalden just to give you a few examples.
How to get to Fanøy
The closest town and hub for public transport is Florø. There are several ways to get from Florø to Fanøy by using public transport, taxi, or your own boat. If you are traveling by your own boat, there is a guest pier in Føre Fanøyvåg, not far from where you arrive by ferry.
From the ferry terminal at Fugleskjærskaia in Florø, the public transport will have daily departrures to Fanøy. Information about routes and timetables on the ferry can be found on the website of the ferry company.
