How to get to Løkjelsvatnhytta:
To reach Løkjelsvatnhytta, you can take a hike along a trail of moderate difficulty, taking around two hours, from Skarstøl in Etne. If you’re looking for a slightly more challenging hike, you can take a couple of lovely trails that start at the far end of the lake (past the power station) and lead up into the mountains. This will take you right up close to the steep mountain walls. The route is well signposted from Hardeland and Skarstøl to Løkjelsvatn. Løkjelsvatnet, the lake by which the cabin is situated, is a regulated reservoir, so you should stay clear of the ice in winter.
