How to get to Sauabrehytta:

The most popular starting point for this hike is Vintertun/Bergstø, but you can also take a slightly less steep route from Espeland. The hike takes between 4 and 6 hours, depending on which starting point you choose. There is no marked trail up, so we recommend speaking to someone familiar with the area, or calling Haugesund Tourist Association on 52 71 53 11 for more information. The hike is classified as demanding.

Practical information:

  • Self-catering with a food store
  • 10 beds
  • Open all year round, but check the weather forecast and ensure you have the correct equipment before setting out on this hike. Must only be walked in good weather.
  • Unlocked
  • There is little mobile phone coverage at the cabin and in the area in general
  • The cabin is not particularly dog-friendly, but there is space for one dog in the porch
