Steffistølen is a secluded panorama cabin located at Fjell Fortress in Øygarden, approximately 30 minutes west of Bergen. This makes it an ideal destination for those who wish to combine a city vacation with a few relaxing days surrounded by nature in peaceful surroundings.
The cabin offers stunning west-facing views of the coastline and the natural landscape of the archipelago. Watching the sun set into the ocean from the comfort of your bed, is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The location of Steffistølen also provides excellent opportunities to explore extensive outdoor areas with well-maintained walking trails, as well as a large historical museum site dating back to the Second World War.
Steffistølen can accommodate up to six guests in three double beds, and has been designed with families and small groups of friends in mind.
The cabin features a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare delicious meals during your stay. There is also an indoor toilet for your convenience. There is no shower at the cabin.
The interior combines traditional craftsmanship with locally sourced materials, creating a unique and charming atmosphere. Large floor-to-ceiling windows maximize natural light and offer panoramic views of the western horizon.
Perched on the edge of the mountainside, the cabin gives visitors the sensation of floating above the landscape. High up in the clouds, guests can experience ever-changing weather conditions and countless breathtaking photo opportunities.
During your stay at Steffistølen, you also have the option to book a personal guide for a tour of the fortress grounds, as well as locally produced food from Fjell Gård and Porsvika 125. To ensure availability, these services should be booked at least one week before your stay. If you make a request later than that, we may still be able to arrange it, but availability cannot be guaranteed.
How to get to Steffistølen:
It is recommended to travel to the cabin by car. For those travelling by public transport, bus number 450 runs from Bergen Bus Station to the stop "Tellnesskogen". From there it is approximately 3.6 km on foot to the cabin. Timetables can be found at Skyss.no.
Accessibility:
The cabin is not suitable for wheelchairs. However, it is possible to push a pram to the cabin, as the path to the cabin is gravel road.
