Tørvis Hotel dates back to 1639, and is located in Marifjøra, which used to be the most important area for trade in this region.
From the hotel you have a beautiful view over Lustrafjorden, with its green water coloured by the glacier.
Back then, the small village called Marifjøra, was a known trade center. The old traditions are well kept, both in restauring the hotel and it´s atmosphere. The hotel serves local and fresh produce. Fine wines and a rich atmosphere allows for exceptional culinary experiences. Kick back and enjoy both your food and the view.
The hotels facade faces towards the gorgeous Lustrafjorden. Lustrafjorden is known for it´s turqoise colour, tainted green by the glaciers in Jostedalen only 30 minutes away by car.
Activities in the area
Why not visit one of our glaciers while you are here? Tørvis Hotel is situaded right between all sorts of fun activities. If you want to go kayaking on the fjord, Fjord Seal AS keeps their kayaks 500 m from the hotel. Just across the street what used to be Marifjøra's old convenience store has been renovated with historical details and now serves as a café.
Hiking Mt. Molden
If you want to go hiking, the closest trail is right in the hotels back yard, taking you as far as you want to go towards the top of Molden Mountain 1116m above the fjords. If you like more action, go rafting or follow a guide onto the glaciers.
