HISTORY

The house is located on the farm Flesje in Balestrand. Until the end of the 17th century, Flesje was part of the neighboring estate Tue. In 1692, Hans Blix was bailiff in ytre Sogn, and he built Flesje as a bailiff residence. In 1774, military captain Jacob Meidell bought the farm, and his eight descendants lived there until 1951. In 1948, Nils and Jenny Tenningås came to Flesje, and in 1951 they were able to buy the farm. They stopped working with steel mills in 1953, and fruit growing gradually became an important industry. Nils and Jenny were the first farmers to farm Flesje since 1685. In 1990, the farm was sold to Rune Andersen, who is the current owner. Rune is a civil engineer, and in addition to running his own consulting firm, has spent a lot of time putting the buildings and outdoor area on the farm in good condition.
