Julekonsert frå Kulturkirken Jakob

The Christmas hymn evening with Kim Rysstad, Tord Gustavsen, Beate S. Lech and Maria Mohn created a euphoric atmosphere in Sjøborg during Advent last year. It is therefore a pleasure to be able to present the Christmas hymn evening to the audience in Sjøborg again this year.

It has been seven years since this ensemble gathered at Kulturkirken Jakob to create a completely unique concert experience – with three of the country's most distinguished singers having selected the Christmas hymns they like best – and performing them together with Tord Gustavsen and his quartet.

Kim Rysstad is a singer and songwriter from Rysstad in Setesdal, who has charmed and impressed all of Norway with her magnificent voice. Beate S. Lech is perhaps best known from her own band Beady Belle, but has long had a close relationship with both hymns and religious folk tunes. Maria Mohn is a Norwegian singer from Fredrikstad who has made a name for herself on both theater stages and cultural centers.

Tord Gustavsen is one of the country's most recognized and distinctive pianists. In this concert he brings with him a handpicked quartet of musicians from the top of Norwegian improvised music.

The keynote speaker at the Christmas Carol Evening is Erik Hillestad.
