Greg Niemczuk is one of the leading pianists in Poland. He was born in 1985 and graduated from the Music Academy in Katowice with top marks. The pianist now has the whole world as his field of activity. He has given concerts in most European countries,
and also America, Asia, Africa and Australia.

In 2010, Greg Niemczuk won first prize in the prestigious National Chopin Competition in Warsaw, and he is now considered one of the world's leading Chopin interpreters. In January 2013, he won Carnegie Hall's debutant prize in fierce competition with many of the world's leading instrumentalists.

Greg Niemczuk has become a big name in this country. He has given concerts in Norway since 2010 and conducts two major tours here annually. He has given concerts at 38 different cultural centers in Norway – and visited each of them several times. Unofficially, he is the most touring pianist in Norway. After all the touring and all the concerts here, he has developed a very special connection to our country. He has become a true friend of Norway and sees Norway as his second homeland. This is the fourth time Greg has visited us here in Ørsta. This time, Greg Niemczuk will interpret the great romantic composers from the 19th century. In tonight's program, we will hear the most beautiful and best-known piano works by Schubert, Schumann, Verdi, Mendelssohn, Liszt, Chopin, Brahms and our own Edvard Grieg. Wherever Greg plays, he is invited back. The main reason is, of course, that he is such an exceptionally gifted and skilled pianist, but also because he is such a pleasant person. Friendly, open, outgoing, always smiling, enthusiastic, loving people, modest and grateful for everything – loved and highly respected everywhere. A great personality with a winning nature!
