On the occasion of Garborg's 175th birthday, BUL Stavanger is publishing the anniversary booklet ‘We owe him a memorial - Arne Garborg and the free minded youth movement in Stavanger’.
A conversation between Anders Sundsteigen Hana and Morten Vestbø about the publication, which mainly covers the period from 1900 to 1940, a time when the Bondeungdomslaget (Farmers' Youth Association) was a cultural institution in central Stavanger, and the Norwegian youth movement had a strong position with folk music, literature evenings, folk dancing, playgroups, lectures, magazine work, theatre performances and aid work. A piece of local cultural history from an environment where Arne Garborg himself was the spiritual leader.
