Herkedal, who made a big impression with his debut at Vill Vill Vest in 2022, is finally back with new music! Over the past year, Herkedal has signed a record deal with Warner Music Central Europe and is seriously working on breaking into the international music scene. In connection with his first release on Warner, Herkedal will embark on a tour, including his first solo concert at Lille Ole Bull in Bergen.
Øystein Herkedal Hegvik is 24 years old and hails from Ørland, out on the Trøndelag coast. Herkedal’s music can best be described as narrative and intimate, delivered with a distinctive voice that is both powerful and vulnerable. In 2023, he released the EP Wild Raspberries & Plum Trees, produced and co-written with Kristoffer Lo and Myrtoula Røe. Following this release, Øystein toured all over Norway with an 11-piece ensemble, including strings, harp, and a full band, in collaboration with Musikk i Nordland.
After Vill Vill Vest, Gaffa highlighted Herkedal as one of their favorites at Trondheim Calling, writing: “Herkedal was the most beautiful act we saw at Vill Vill Vest. It’s no exaggeration to say that Herkedal possesses a vocal power few in the country can match.”
