Morten Halle is a true doyen of Norwegian jazz, both as an outstanding performer and as a highly sought-after head of department and associate professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Perhaps he also uses NMH as a recruitment ground and training camp for his own superband? Into the Wild Hills certainly sounds like a creative playground for musicians who listen closely and play freely with genres.
