A new generation of dancers is being created in the Norwegian National Ballet YOUTH. Now they are coming to Parken Cultural Center to show what the future of ballet has to offer, in a performance with three brand new works on the program.

For ballet lovers and beginners
Have you never seen ballet before? Then this is the performance for you! And if you have seen it and like it, it is all the better. The Norwegian National Ballet YOUTH is touring with three works created especially for this performance.

Newly created works
The works on the program are signed by a bouquet of outstanding choreographers. Kumiko Hayakawa, who has previously choreographed for this company, creates a new work with a classical idiom. Jason Kittelberger and Alan Lucien Øyen are both choreographing new works for the Norwegian National Ballet YOUTH for the first time: Kittelberger contributes a brand new pas de deux (duet), while the Norwegian National Ballet's house choreographer Øyen creates a modern work especially for this occasion.

The Norwegian National Ballet YOUTH
On stage, you will see the dancers who make up the Norwegian National Ballet YOUTH. The 14 talents are between 18 and 20 years old and come from six different countries. Since its inception in 2015, the company has been building tomorrow's dance stars and has been a source of recruitment for the Norwegian National Ballet.

When the Norwegian National Ballet YOUTH danced its first performance in the spring of 2016, it was nominated for the Critics' Award. In addition to its own performances and touring activities, the company participates in the Norwegian National Ballet's productions.

The company is led by Jahn Magnus Johansen. The initiative is made possible by Talent Norge AS, combined with generous contributions from Sparebankstiftelsen DNB, Skipsreder Tom Wilhelmsen's foundation, Norsk Tipping and Scatec Innovation.
