Since 2008, when Solveig Slettahjell went to the Church of the Nativity to record the critically acclaimed album Natt i Betlehem, she has given a limited number of Christmas concerts each year. At Kulturkirken Jakob in Oslo, this has become a tradition that draws full houses annually.
Together with pianist Tord Gustavsen and trumpeter Sjur Miljeteig, Solveig Slettahjell interprets Christmas songs with the intensity and expressiveness that only she can deliver. The repertoire includes Silent Night, Deilig er jorden, Jeg synger julekvad, and Kling no klokka, as well as lesser-known Christmas songs such as the traditional American Sleep Holy Babe and Å kunne jeg bare bli barn igjen by Sigurd Lunde and Karl Marthiniussen.
